Thats Me!

Hello! I am pleased that you have came to join me on this wonderful day. For those of you who do not know me my name is Alecia Kelly. I am a 21 year old senior at Grand Valley State University. I am currently seeking a degree in General Communications and I guess that is what I will be graduating with in December of 2006. The one question that everyone asks you when you are in college is: "What are you going to do after school?" My answer to that dreaded question is I have no idea. I am thinking about joining the Navy after school, yet none of my friends and family are really supporting that idea. They all think I am crazy for wanting to join when our country is at war and to be honest I can see that point.

I grew up in Lansing, Michigan. Growing up in the city had its up and down. I loved the fact that most of my family is only twenty minuets away but I don't like all the traffic. I love the sounds of the city and the busyness of it but I hate the smell of car pollution and swears. I attended St. Gerard Middle school and Waverly High School. When I was in high school I was on the honor roll all four years (yes, I am a big nerd) and varsity lettered in three different sports.

I love sports. I am a very active person. I don't watch that much TV, I would rather be doing something. I love anything outdoors. Being outside is all I do when it is nice out where it is from sitting on the front porch talking with good friends, to doing yard work, or even playing a sport. If it is outdoors than I am in! Currently, I am playing lacrosse for Grand Valley. In high school I played softball, tennis and basketball. Sports have always been a big part of my life. There hasn't be a period in my life where I Haven't played a sport. Softball is my true love! I have played softball for as long as I can remember. When I was in high school I played year round. I walked on the the Grand Valley's softball team and made it but because of an old head injury I wasn't allowed to play. I was crushed but just like always I picked up a new sport to keep me busy. Even though lacrosse isn't softball I have enjoyed playing for the last four years.

Other hobbies of mine include writing, and reading. My favorite author is John Gresham but I am a sucker for a good biography or autobiography. I haven't read anything good lately because while I am in school I do not have a lot of time to read for fun. Yet, once this semester is over that will change because all I will be doing is working and reading.
