Skypoint is a research station in orbit of the planet designated AZ337. Ostensibly a private research station with some government ties, Skypoint has been in operation for the past ten years. Researchers come and go, security staff is provided by Earth military personnel -- specifically US Marines.
The station maintains several arcologies that simulate various environments for research purposes. The environs include rainforest, desert, subterranean and mountainous, forest, savannah, and several others.
Researchers from various fields live and work on Skypoint station. The number of ex-military personnel is notable.
