I grew up in Rockford, Michigan where I spent most of my free time with my family; playing sports; staying active in my childhood church- Blythefield Hills Baptist Church, spending my summers at our family cottage in Elk Rapids, Michigan; and was involved with various academic programs and religious mission work including: National Honor Society, Youth Initiative, Race for the Cure, Relay for Life, and partcipating in a number of trips through my church to: different Michigan inner-cities, Brazil, and Mexico.

After graduating I attended Hope College in Holland, Michigan for one year where I majored in Elementary Education and met many of my lifelong friends. The following year, I transferred to Grand Valley State University where I will graduate in April 2008 with a Professional Writing degree with an emphasis in English. During this time, I have had the unique opportunity of being an intern at Zondervan- the largest Christian publishing company in the United States.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading all types of literature, working on my writing, learning new things, attending engedi church, traveling, playing with my dog, and giving back to the community and the less fortunate.
