FUTURE PLANS

I plan to graduate in the Summer of 2009 and use my degree to enter into the publishing realm. I am mainly interested in book publishing, but would also love to experience the magazine publication process as well.

Ultimately, I desire to gain a position as a book editor. While I have many passions in life, editing has quickly become one of my favorite and personally satisfying activities. I love to write, especially analytical pieces, but I have discovered over the past few years that I love to edit even more.

OTHER INTERESTS

Aside from writing and editing, I also find great joy in photography. While I have not had much experience within the field, I do love to take photographs and then use editing programs to manipulate the colors, lines, etc. Although I do not necessarily plan to use photography in my professional career,it is something that I do in my spare time.

When I was younger, I never really took much interest in reading, but lately I have found that Franz Kafka, Leo Tolstoy, and Fyodor Dostoevsky are my favorite authors. The manner in which they present their stories is so simple and straightforward, yet emotionally complex. Each of these authors creates a world in which everyone can relate and forces readers to identify with the characters and feel the utmost compassion for them as well. As a book editor, I would love to read and edit books that would emulate these authors in a modern setting.

I am a very opinionated, yet open-minded individual. I love to find out others' view points and the reasoning behind their beliefs. I have the greatest amount of respect for anyone who can defend and explain their opinions and beliefs to me. Because of this, I simply love to discuss religion, politics, or anything else that contains great importance to other individuals.
