What Kind of Fish? | ![]() The picture above is of a Lake Trout caught out of Harbor Beach. |
Harbor
Beach is home to an
assortment of fish to be caught in a boat, casting off the pier,
casting off the break wall, casting from a kayak, or through the
ice. During the early spring, boaters can try their luck at the
King Salmon, Pink Salmon, Coho Salmon, Steelhead, and Lake Trout, just
to name a handful. Taking out a rod and reel to the break wall
will allow anglers to attempt to catch Smallmouth Bass, Walleye,
and Northern Pike, along with the occasional Brown Trout. During the
cold winter months, ice fisherman can hit the hard water hoping to
catch Perch and Brown Trout.
The main type of fishing that avid anglers do in the summer is put on a
pair of waders or kayak out to water depths ranging from ankle deep to
10 feet looking to catch Smallmouth Bass while they are on their
beds. Anglers that head out to the pier can also try their luck at Rock Bass. |

Here is a picture of a nice King Salmon that Cody caught. |
By using the lures like what is shown to the right, fisherman can try their luck off of the break wall and try to catch Walleye and the aggressive Smallmouth Bass. |
