Lakewood has had 35
MIVCA All-State Honorees. The All-State teams are chosen by a coach's panel that meets at the end of the season. It is a great honor to be named an All-State player. It is an even bigger honor to be named 1st Team All-State. Lakewood has had 5 1st Teamers and they are Jennifer Mitchell, Stephanie Maciasz, Jessie Buche, Chelsea Brehm, and Chelsea Lake.

Jennifer Mitchell
went on to play at Central Michigan University. She started there for all four years and her name is scattered about many of the career records lists for Central Michigan. While at Lakewood Mitchell broke the season block record with 211 and the season kill record with 714. Coach Kellie Rowland often refers to Jennifer Mitchell as her best ever player.

Stephanie playing for GVSU.
Stephanie Maciasz went on to play at Grand Valley State University. She was a member and starter on 2 of GVSU's final four teams. Maciasz set the national kill record her senior year at Lakewood with 856 kills. Maciasz was an all around great athlete as she was also an Honorable Mention All-State basketball player.

Jessie Buche
went on to play at George Washington University. She was a 2 year starter for the Colonials in the setting position. Jessie played as an Outside Hitter in high school because that is where her team needed her the most. She was a 4 year varsity member and by her senior year was truly a force to be reckoned with on the court.

Chelsea Brehm made the decision not to play volleyball in college. Chelsea attended GVSU and was a member of the club team. Chelsea is considered to be the best setter that Lakewood has ever had and her court presence has still not been duplicated by the setters that have followed in her footsteps.

Chelsea Lake in her Cornerstone uniform.
Chelsea Lake is currently playing at Cornertone University. She was redshirted her freshman year due to a knee injury. In high school Chelsea was a 4 year varsity starter. She played Middle Blocker and did it well. Chelsea holds the aces record at Lakewood with 121.

Lakewood's first all state player was Heather Mitchell and she was recognized with this honor after leading the 1995 team to the State Championship match.

* Beginning in 2007 the MHSAA changed the volleyball season to the fall rather than the winter thus resulting in the volleyball season of 2007Winter and 2007Fall to take place in the same calendar year.
