...brief thoughts...

My friend Brad lent me Wing Chun, so i should watch that sometime. It stars Michelle Yeoh, who aside from being in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, I havn't really seen any of her other movies. It's supposed to be better than Butterfly and Sword with Yeoh and Donnie Yen, which i really want to see.

Update! I watched Wing Chun last nite...when I could figure out what was going on, it was pretty awesome. Yeun Wo Ping did a good job with the fight choreography and it was nice to see that wire-fu was not overused. I must say Donnie Yen's character was pretty...funny? He must have humbled himself a lot to do that role. I just don't see him as any sort of comic actor and I'm sure he doesn't see himself as that either.

On to more boring things, I don't plan on dropping any big cash on anyone this Christmas so I will probably ebay some new movies soon. My picks so far, a Gordon Liu Fest with 8 Diagram Pole Fighter, Shaolin Master Killer and Return of Master Killer. Should be awesome as i do believe his brother, Lau Kar-Leung, did the fight choreography for all of those movies. Considering his work in Fist of the White Lotus and Drunken Master 2, I don't see where the fights could go wrong. But I guess if John Woo dropped the ball a few times, so can Lau. Woo's new movie, Paycheck, looks like it will be good, even with the whole Affleck factor. Anyways, time to stop updating this. Goodbye.
