Unicycling has so many possibilities. Some people, such as myself,
mostly use it to get around, but other people spend many hours getting
exceptionally good at it. There are 10 skill levels to show how
proficient a rider is. At each level, a rider must exhibit increasingly
challenging skills in order to prove that they are worthy of that
level. For a list of the required skills go to
http://www.unicycling.org/IUF/levels/.
Some
other possibilities include playing sports such as basketball and
hockey while riding a unicycle. There are actually
tournaments and championships for these unusual sports, but most games
are just for fun. Both of these sports are great fun on foot, but being
on a unicycle adds another dimension that adds to the challenge.
One area of unicycling that I find intriguing is mountain
unicycling. People can and will do some insane stunts, like riding on
the edge of a cliff. The casual unicyclist who decides to take part in
MUni (Mountain unicycling) just rides offroad, in the same way that
most people do mountain biking.
