Conceptual Analysis:
Background: | Advanced Analytics is a marketing research firm in the Grand Rapids area that performs customer satisfaction surveys along with higher level data analysis for a number of the fortune 500 companies in the Grand Rapids area. The majority of their work is for Spartan Stores. Brian DiVita, the CEO, runs the business out of his home and only employs help on a temporary basis. I served as an associate this past summer and saw much of his aggravation came not from his projects, but more so his clients failing to provide him information, or tieing his hands with questions that could easily be answered by a well designed web page. |
Primary Purpose: | The site is designed for new business development. The site will provide information for current clients first and foremost. It will contain all of the contact information, information on various projects, schedules and invoices. Much of Brian's new business has come through referral. By implementing a web-site clients can see first hand what Advanced Analytics is all about. |
Specific Tasks |
|
Secondary Purpose | Alleviate some of the administrative assistant support, which so often becomes encumbersome in an entrepreneurial setting. |
Audience | The users of these web sites are often high ranking corporate executives with high level education, usually the director of the Marketing Department. They have above average computing skills and limited amounts of time. |
Challenge: | The greatest challenge will be in meeting expectations of the user. The site will have to be very well organized, cutting edge and professional. What does it say about the marketing consultant if his own communications devices are lackluster? |
Content Analysis
Web Structure | The home page will have a drop down menu that will link each page together. Every page or aspect of information will be accessable within one click. |
Content, and Interface Design | The site should look simple and professional, but not uptight. The navigation will be found at the top of the page. The bottom will contain contact information. Fonts will include Copperplate Gothic, Verdana and Geneva. CSS style will be applied throughout. |
Web Promotion and Maintenance | Depending on whether or not we activate the current client individual pages. If each client recieves an individual page, maintenance will be daily. If remains as is a 3-6 month maintenance schedule is sufficient. |
Development Information | The websites address will be placed on all business cards. Referral has been the primary source for new business. When clients pick up one of Brian's business cards from a friend they'll be able to check out the website, or he would be able to refer them to it. |
