Welcome to Babcock State Park

The park is located deep inside the Appalachian Mountain range. The drive is going to make you dizzy if you're a flat lander, be ready for it. A few minutes before you drive up to the park you will pass through a small town. If you're staying for more than a day, stop at the grocery store. Its the only one around for miles. Be sure to stock up on fun foods. There are grills outside the cabins and in the more open public areas. Its a great place to cook out. Just be careful, the raccoons like burgers too!

The Welcome  Center will provide you with maps of the area, cabin keys, information on trails, or you can simply shop for souvenirs.
Behind the Welcome Center is a short stone path that will lead you to Glade Creek. The Mill sits just on the other side and the view the area affords is beautiful. If your looking for a photo this is the place to pull out your camera equipment.
The Grist Mill is open to visitors so be sure to stop inside and get a closer look at the building. You'll be able to watch the stones grind and you can go up to the attic and have a look at the spare parts.
Take your time, you might find areas you couldn't see from the ground. I found a hidden path behind part of the building. Who knows what you might find?
But how does it really work? Do you want to know more?
