Toss Your Stuff in Your Cabin and Check Out the Lake

There are twenty cabins to choose from in the park. They are scattered about in several locations so be sure to ask for details before making your reservation. If you are interested is staying in another state park be sure to click on the picture of the log cabin to the left.
The river that runs behind a group of the cabins feeds into the lake. Follow it downstream and see what you find.

There is a trail that winds all the way around the lake. You don't even have to worry about getting your feet wet.
If you get to the park at the right time you might get to see tadpoles swimming around the lily pads.

The lake is a great place to fish or have a picnic. Be sure you have a license before you catch anything for dinner though.

Did you know Daniel Boone settled in West Virginia? His cabin is almost the same size as the ones provided for visitors in Babcock State Park. You can see the cabin he lived in on the banks of the Kanawha River that runs through Charleston. Daniel Boone is my favorite historical figure. It might be because I am one of his direct descendants. He's my great-great-great-great-great grandfather.  How cool is that?
