John Mayer is an American singer-songwriter and producer from Bridgeport, Connecticut born October 16, 1977. He attended Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massechusttes but disenrolled in 1997 to pursue his career in music on his own by moving to Atlanta, Georgia. He started to playing in local clubs, gaining followers and refining his skills. After an appearance playing his music at South by Southwest Festival, he was signed to Aware Records, and then Columbia Records. He has since then produced 6 studio albums, has won multiple Grammy awards for his music, and his albums have achieved multi-platinum status. As of now, he is on tour with members of The Grateful Dead in a band known as Dead and Company and is looking to release another studio album sometime soon with his good musician friends, Steve Jordan and Pino Palladino. Togehter the three of them are known as the John Mayer Trio. He enjoys playing Fender Stratocasters, Martin Acoustic Guitars, and recently has been playing Paul Reed Smith guitars and working with the company to make his own guitars. |
