In much of my work recently I have been very interested in aspects of imagination. I wanted to explore imagination in both a magical sense and a practical one. I have been very affected by conflict in the past in relationships with close family members. A majority of my work is somehow connected to these aspects of my life.
This particular piece, Hope for nevaeH, I touch on this idea of hope, whether it be of reconciliation or change of heart. I wanted to show the conflict through my pet fish, she feels trapped, restricted loosing faith in the world around her. And suddenly, magically, she is freed of her struggle and hopeful of what is to come. Although I feel sometimes my relationships with family members may never get better, every once and awhile when I least expect it people surprise me and give me hope of a better future. I chose music that started out very static and rapidly sped up with the animation at climactic points. I am overall happy and satisfied with the way my short animation turned out. I felt that both the concept and the audio flow well and are integrated as one piece.
