Design Process Report

Introduction

This report describes the process of creating my personal webpage. Included is discussion of my intended audience and purpose and reasoning behind design choices. In addition, I discuss content selection and placement, along with possible costs associated with the site.

Audience and Purpose

The audience for my personal website mainly consists of potential employers. Since I prefer to keep my paper resume concise, this online resume provides the space for more description of experience and listings of hobbies. The website also helps demonstrate the skills, like web design and html, which are referenced in my resume. The design choices and color schemes are reflective of my personality and design tastes.

Design

This site was created using a template from Open Source Design called webtom brown by webtom. The template provided a basic framework for the homepage, while the colors and box sizes were modified to help fulfill my design purposes.

Color

I chose bright colors that remind me of citrus fruit. They show that I am an optimistic and outgoing person. Use of grey helps balance the vividness of the page and contributes to a more professional look. The grey is used in the background and in the boxes around navigation links when they are selected.
