Travels
My traveling life began June 12, 2007 in a church parking lot in Holland, Michigan. This is the day that I, along with five of my closest friends, left on a five week road trip to California and back. Our ride was a 1973 Winnebago Chieftain, an $1800 investment on eBay. With only a few predetermined stops between Holland and Los Angeles, we encountered some of the most interesting people we would ever meet, braved through the most dangerous instances of our lives, and returned home to tell the tale. The five weeks were short lived, only wetting my pallet with the traveling life style.
The summer following my sophomore year at Grand Valley, I studied abroad in London, England for a couple of weeks. The program was faculty led, organized through the accounting department. I somehow managed to transfer these accounting credits towards criminal justice, justifying the price tag that accompanied the trip.
After the study portion of the trip was over, three of my friends and I traveled Western Europe. Beginning in London, the motto became "All roads lead to Rome." From London we flew to Paris, hopped trains throughout France, then to Geneva, Florence, Venice, and Rome. The excursion lasted three weeks, again only making me want to travel more.
This coming May I will be flying out to Los Angeles to visit my sister who lives there. My next international adventure has yet to be planned.
