Development Information
Further development of the Goodwill website will be a relatively simple task. The colors, fonts, and images are easy to duplicate so pages can be added. All of the colors are shades of blue, white, and gray, while the two font styles are Arial and Verdana. The techniques used to change the headings, text, and menus include font sizes, bold and changes in the shades of the colors. Most of the text on the pages actually is text generated in Dreamweaver. This will allow the text to be changed by merely going into the Dreamweaver files and changing them. This includes the buttons and submenus across the navigation bar, so of other menus are needed, this is easily done. There are tables used to organize the pages and sells can be merged and added to change images and move text.
Some of the more difficult components to change on the page will be the maps on the Store Locations page and the Where We Are page. These maps were handmade on Fireworks and must be reproduced to change them. Though they are simple to make, they are not as easy the other parts of the page. The text on these maps is Arial and in either black or blue. Lines are black and are 2-point or 3-point depending on the relative size of the street. Other images are available through Goodwill and can be manipulated using Fireworks.
All of these components can be transferred from the created site to Goodwill by disk or FTP. Goodwill may use and of the images, text, maps, or designs used on the site. All pages can be viewed directly by referencing them from the plain-text site map or by browsing the site. The Goodwill logo and images were used with the permission of Goodwill Grand Rapids.
