My Experience

I have been around dogs all my life. I have experience with caring for many different breeds of dog including, American Bulldog, Chiwawa, Wirehaired Terrier, Pit bull, and Pugs. I also having experience with interaction with other dogs that friends and family own.

I have had my current dog princess, who is a pug (right), for over a year. Over the past year I have also adopted a Pug/Boston Terrier mix named Leyroy, and one of princess's eight puppies for this Summer of this year.

To say that pugs have grown on me is an understatement. Having experienced owning a Pug, I can think of no better companion. No matter what mood you are in, your Pug will be happy to see you, and just as happy to look at you with googly eyes and guilt you into giving them a treat.

Breeding

This Summer I got to enjoy the experience of breeding my pug, and having eight pug puppies run around my house. The most important thing to remember about taking care of a Pug during her pregnancy is temperature. While the Pug is in labor, it is important for her to have a mid, to low temperature for her to feel comfortable and not "overheat" so to speak as Pug sometimes do. After giving birth, it is then best to have a high temperature to keep the puppies, who have little fur and are wet, warm and comfortable. Though breeding my pug worried me, it was definitely worth bringing more pugs into the world.
