The dragons of Invaria have their own little quirks and eccentricities...just like everyone and everything else under the sun, the moon, the stars, and the skies.

History
The dragons of Invaria are among the creatures that still remember the old gods and goddesses of the world.  It is said that the dragons were born as the faithful companions and pets of these powers of old.

For centuries, dragons have thrived on Invaria.  No one quite knows where they came from, or when they came, only that they predated even the elves.  Over the years, the chromatic dragons of Invaria have become withdrawn and reclusive, possibly due to mistreatment and abuse.  Most fled to the isle of Nerahmin, where they live in peace today.
Some dragons, however, have made names for themselves in more recent times, for good and for ill.  The silver dragons threw their lot in with the Black Armies during both the Liberation War and the Balance War, while some of the chromatic dragons -- the reds, specifically -- threw in with the White Armies.  This led to much carnage and bloodshed, with dragon fighting dragon.  Once the conflicts were ended, it was vowed that this would never happen again.  The red dragons withdrew to Nerahmin almost to the last of them, and any not sworn to a particular member of the White forces is considered outcast for the duration of their service.  Some of the other chromatic dragons still linger among the White Armies, but in small numbers only.  The silver dragons, and the other dragons serving the Black Armies, have been allowed to continue that service due to the respect and honor given to them, as well as the trust and friendships kindled between the peoples.  More recently, the dragons have sent representatives to the government of each nation as an embassy between those nations and the dragons.  Several nations have reciprocated and have sent representatives to Nerahmin, the Isle of Dragons.

Social Structure, Observations, and Notes
Most of the dragons seen by denizens are of the metallic variety, who are the more friendly of the dragon types.  Chromatic dragons are usually more dangerous to the casual observer due to their reclusive and withdrawn natures.  The chromatic dragons, however, are rarely seen outside of Nerahmin.
Of the metallic dragons, the most common are the silver dragons, followed by copper and gold in equal numbers to each other.  Brass and bronze are somewhat more rare, but all are more common than chromatic types.

Notable Dragons and Half-Dragons

Game Mechanics
You allow a player to play a dragon in your campaign at your own risk.  Consider yourself forewarned.  Half-dragons should be played by trusted individuals.

As dragons and half-dragons in Monster Manual with the following exceptions:
    - Chromatic Dragons are not, in fact, always evil.  They are neutral.
    - Wings for all half-dragons are OPTIONAL.  If a player wishes to have wings for their half-dragon, they may at any size category.
    - Dragons do not love treasure above all else.  Each has their own personal tastes and pleasures.  Treasure may be one for some, but certainly not the only one and certainly not for all.
    - Dragons are territorial, but not violently so and can actually live within a society of sorts.  They can also live easily in a humanoid form amongst the other races of the world.
