- Races -

There are a couple of special races found on Invaria for purposes of the Invaria campaign world.
Please visit the Invaria section for more information as it becomes available.
Information on the Angels, Elves , Dragons, and Daemoni now available.  Please see below for other information.

The Gnomes
The gnomes of Invaria are a tiny race, about fifteen centimeters tall at adulthood.  They are mastercrafters and are the only race able to create objects of magic beyond order-imbuing.  It is hard to find and even harder to befriend this diminutive race, but once one is trusted by a gnome, it is hard for them to stop trusting.  A gnome as your friend is a friend for life.
The Humans
Humans of Invaria are like any other race of humans one might encounter.  They are found in all shapes, colors, sizes, and varieties.  They range freely across Invaria.  Humans, however, are also the source of the White Council at Zim and the White Armies, which are reviled and feared by many.

- A Short Backstory -

Sean Jistani, King of Myst, won his kingdom away from the White Armies of Zim twenty years ago and pushed the White Armies back so much that they could only continue to hold their home nation and have scattered holdings in a second.  With Sean's victory, the nation of Myst became a haven for Black mages and common folk who believed in Order.  The uneasy peace Sean won, however, was not to last.
Within five years, the White Armies were back on their feet and attempting to reconquer the territory they lost in the war against the Silver Falcon and his Black Armies.  Sean, however, was prepared for this eventuality and confined them mostly to their own nations.
Ten years after Sean first won away Myst from the Whites, however, the conflict that had been building since he last waged war with the White mages and their armies became too much to discount.  As such, Sean called a select group of men and women to Castle Mirdreth and implored them as a man seeking to protect his home and those dependent on him to help him.  He called these men and women The Guard, and consisted of the Elven Crown Prince Aalander, the mage Zoot Morgan, Misha the Dragonslayer, the monks Niku and Tomo, the half-dragon Govan, the soldiers Crystal and Trinity, the healer Berkana, and the mercenary Raziel.  Through much toil and strife, the Guard aided Sean in protecting his nation, but even the skills of the Guard could not prevent what came next.
Sean Jistani disappeared during the Battle of Fort Riven, the battle that ended the Balance War.  The White forces sent against Sean's army were devastated and retreated.  In the following years, the Whites were contained within the borders of Portus and Nanu.  The peace held for ten years after the Battle of Fort Riven, with Sean's best friend and second in command, Ardus Cardalyi, Sean's brother, Rowan Jistani, and the Firecat, Kaven Mortyz, Sean's beloved, ruling Myst as regents.  Over the years, the Guard went back to normal lives -- Trinity as a smith for the Black Armies, Aalander as Crown Prince and a member of the Order of the Silver Sword along with his cousin, Govan, and his defender Crystal, Berkana as a healer for the armies, Zoot as an air mage assisting various units of the Black Armies, Misha as a tavern keeper northwest of Mirdreth.  Then, things began to go awry.
While flying with his dragon-mount, Aalander disappears -- his mount returns riderless, remembering nothing.  Rumors begin to spread of Angel raiding parties from across the seas.  Perhaps most frightening of all is the vision that comes to seventeen year old Kadara Jistani, niece to the king -- that of Myst falling to the White Armies if it is attacked without a strong figure to lead the nation.
Word comes quickly thereafter -- the White Armies are on the move again.  Myst is without a leader.  In desperation, Kaven Mortyz calls together a new band of heroes and entrusts them with the most important of missions -- return Sean Jistani to the world of the living.
    Thus a new tale begins.
