I've always been a writer. I've always wanted to be a writer. I can remember sitting at my parent's computer and writing for hours.
Writing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and just as I've grown up, so have my writing skills. Before I started college, I thought I was already a good writer. Truthfully, I probably was, but I still had a lot to learn. Over the last four years I've learned a lot about what writing means, to not only me, but to the readers too.
I've experienced both professional and creative writing, and though they are fundamentally different, I feel like the thing that draws them together is that they both communicate to an audience. What the audience wants, or what they expect, may be different, but both forms try to share something with a group of people.
Maybe it's because I like to talk, and love to communicate with people and learn about them, that I became a writer, because at the end of the day, writing draws people together.
